As the threats posed by climate change to the environment grow increasingly se-vere, governments worldwide are promoting carbon reduction measures. However, renewable energy generation is intermittent, making it challenging to fully align with fluctuations in electricity demand. With the rising proportion of renewable energy in power generation, regional grid stability may be affected. Therefore, Taiwan should draw on the experiences of advanced nations by actively establishing community-based microgrid systems and developing comprehensive operational models. Mi-crogrids not only enhance the flexibility and resilience of energy systems, ensuring stable regional power supply, but also improve energy utilization efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. Through power trading, participants can also autonomously sell elec-tricity. This study focuses on “community-based microgrids” as the subject of explora-tion. By referencing relevant research literature, it lists domestic and international mi-crogrid business models and analyzes feasible profit strategies using the “Economic Business Model Canvas.” To achieve a wellrounded approach, the study also employs the “Environmental Business Model Canvas” and the “Social Business Model Canvas” for analysis. The study concludes that microgrids can strengthen grid resilience and improve energy utilization efficiency. Combined with renewable energy, they enhance reliability and, in the event of a main grid failure, can ensure power supply through islanding operations. From an economic perspective, microgrids can reduce infrastruc-ture investment, minimize energy transmission losses, meet carbon reduction demands, and provide continuous and reliable power to address fluctuations in fossil fuel prices.
