In order to understand the impact of energy issues on information exposure and people’s power technology preferences, this study analyzes the changes in the information exposure of energy referendum issues before and after the referendum countersign. This study used an online survey conducted in August 2017 and October 2018 to analyzed that people’s perception of major power generation method and the proportion of imported energy in Taiwan would whether affected people’s power technology preferences related on energy referendum issues. And analyzed the main factors of people’s power technology preferences. The results pointed out that the influence of the energy issue referendum about the behavior of energy technology search on Google Trends is not clear, but the keywords "gas" and "nuclear energy" have seen significant changes in the search fever before and after the referendum. In terms of energy perception, respondents in 2018(after referendum) know more about the main ways of generating electricity and importing energy structures than in 2017(before referendum); Among the power generation technology preferences related to the referendum issue, only the "gas" and "nuclear energy" power generation technology preferences in 2018 are significantly higher than 2017. And the preference for power generation technology not related to referendum issues, shown that "solar" and "geothermal" preference in 2018 is higher than 2017. Further analysis of factors affecting respondents' power technology preferences shows that subjective factors: feeling of climate change risk, nuclear power operation safety reliability, electricity price stability and economic development identity are the main influencing factors. Energy awareness is positively related to nuclear power generation technology preference. It has an inverse relationship with coal-fired, solar, and land-based wind power technology preferences.
